Alex Ridgeway BSc (Hons) DipWCF is a Newmarket-based Racing and Performance Farrier whose career extends across elite Thoroughbred racing, international equine welfare, education and research.
Currently working with Godolphin, Alex brings extensive practical experience in the management of performance horses, supported by a broader professional background that includes his former role as Global Farriery Coordinator for the Brooke, an international equine welfare charity.
His experience across different equine disciplines and working environments has shaped an approach to farriery that extends beyond conventional shoeing. With a particular interest in hoof biomechanics, structural integrity and the relationship between hoof health and performance, Alex combines practical expertise with scientific research and a commitment to professional development.
Through his independent work, Alex continues to contribute to farriery education, technical discussion and the development of practical approaches to equine hoof management.
